Filling the Buckets of Others at Kingswood - A Family Teams Activity

On November 17th, 2025, Kingswood students met with their Family Team for the second time this school year. A Family Team is made up of students from different grade levels, and students make connections with students from all classes in the school. Each Family Team typically has 10 to 11 members. In their Family Team, students created a poster board together of ways all Kingswood Community members can 'Fill Each Other's Bucket'. Using the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today, all students learned metaphorically we all have a bucket. When our bucket is full, we feel good about ourselves, we have a positive outlook, and we treat others with respect and kindness. When our bucket is low, we feel less optimistic, less confident in ourselves, and we often take out our frustrations on others. Each Family Team identified ways we can fill the buckets of others around the school in classrooms, in the hallways and gym, and outside at recess and lunch. Together each team wrote and illustrated ways we can fill each other's buckets by putting their ideas into large drops of water that cascade into a large bucket (see the pictures included in this post).

Continuing with the theme of 'Filling the Buckets of Others in Our School' throughout this school year, helps students and staff learn about and demonstrate empathy and care for each other.
