Reading Comprehension Baseline Data - October 2025
| What targeted actions did we take to address our school’s learning focus? | All students completed the Richmond Formative Reading Assessment in October 2025. The October RFRA is used to identify each student’s Reading Comprehension skills and will be used as Baseline Data to be compared to another RFRA assessment in May 2026. |
| What gap or problem were these actions intended to address? Why was this particular strategy/action chosen? | We will also use the October 2025 RFRA data to identify which reading comprehension skills students in each class can improve upon and teach these specific skills through November 2025 to May 2026. Our overall goal is to improve the reading comprehension skills of our students, moving students from Emerging and Developing to Proficient in their reading comprehension skills. |
| What does the evidence tell us so far? | Fall RFRA Data tells us roughly 52% of our Grade 1-7 students are either emerging or developing in their Reading Comprehension skills, while 46% of our students are Proficient in their Reading Comprehension skills.
|
| To what extent are the actions making a difference? | Our goal is to move students in all grades along in their Reading Comprehension skills from emerging to developing to proficient. We intend to see the Spring RFRA data indicate a higher percentage of students in the proficient and extending categories. |
| How will we move forward accordingly? | We noticed students at different grade levels are stronger or weaker in certain Reading Comprehension skills. Classroom Teachers will focus upon teaching and targeting Reading Comprehension skills that their students need the most improvement on. |
