At the first Professional Development Day on September 22nd, 2025, the Kingswood Staff met to discuss our School Focus for the 2025/2026 school year. The School Focus for the previous school year had been: 

1. Reading Comprehension - reading with fluency, allowing self to think about and make a connection to what is read

2. Social Emotional Learning - being able to self-regulate and use strategies to calm your mind and body

At this staff activity, staff individually brainstormed their ideas for a School Focus, then shared their ideas in a table group, followed by each table group sharing with the whole staff. See the attachment for an overview of the different School Focus themes. After excellent conversation, the Kingswood Staff chose to continue our School Focus for the 2025/2026 school year in the 2 areas of Reading Comprehension and Social Emotional Learning.
